Without knowing the reference, this seems like the kind of picture which would be absurd and therefore funny, if it was actually real, if there was actually someone with the job of tallying bananas.
I imagine, people would also give it the benefit of the doubt, if someone actually put in some effort to illustrate this reference, like drawing a comic or clipping together some stock pictures.
But yes, many people do also just dislike AI-generated images in general.
