I don't get this one. Who are they addressing? The boarding group? Wouldn't the boarding group be superior to the groups who haven't yet boarded?

I believe the other groups have already boarded the plane and are impatiently waiting to take off, while group 9 still has to leave the terminal.

But strictly speaking they usually board last the people sitting more in front of the plane, so if you are the last group you should pass the least amount of people...

Nope. Boarding the back to the rear would be time efficient but then youâd be letting the poors get all the overhead space. Theyâre grouped by weird factors but mostly how much they paid.

Never, ever have I seen that in all my years of flying. Would be logical though...

probably depends on the airline, in my experience with air nz, quantas, Emirates and jet star: they board 1st class(if exists), business class(if exists), premium economy(if exists), then it's either from rear or a free for all.

That would make sense. Unfortunately, first class is at the front, and that boards first. It sort of flows from there.
I've also seen enough people abusing the overhead lockers to completely break back to front boarding. They get on and just stick their bag in the first available space, before heading back. Now, when the people at the front board, their bag space is taken up already. They now have to fight to the back, on landing to get their bags.

Stuff like this only makes me think of the plane boarding efficiency video now. (CGP Grey)
