My great hope is that this is how my wife feels about me.

I feed my local murder of crows peanuts almost every day. Those ungrateful fuckers couldn't give two shits about me. For a while I thought they were bringing me little gifts of seeds and berries as a thank you, but then I realized they were just puking that stuff up so they could fit in more peanuts.

I wish I could feel the same way. I love animals but as I get older squirrels are animals I like less over time more than any other animals.
Me as a toddler: "Squirrels are so cute!"
Me as an adult: "Why is the squirrel eating wires?"

If you live somewhere where they can easily access your parked cars, attics, roofs, boats etc. Then they can absolutely be a problem. In those cases steps must be taken to protect your property from invasive squirrels. I can see why sone would feel this way
