Malt-o-Meal was actually the cheap bag brand when I was coming up. Never seen these in boxes, but their versions of cereals slap

I mean, the better alternative is to just not buy sugary cereal.

Are you really in a position to criticize others on what they consume?

I choose not to drink alcohol. When I see other people posting about what they drink, I don't go around telling other people they shouldn't. These are personal choices. We're both aware of the potential health consequences of our chosen actions. I believe people should be free to do what they want as long as they aren't hurting other people. I don't want to think the worst of you, but the only reason I think of for you to make your comment was from a position of moral superiority. I know I've been guilty of that before and been ashamed of it later. Did I just catch you on a bad day?

Somehow you turned something so lighthearted into something so pointlessly judgemental.

Like yeah we shouldn't eat sugary cereals, and if it's expensive a good alternative is to cut it out. This is just facts.

No need to go digging around their post history like that. It's just kinda weird

I think the issue is that sugary cereal is both bad for you and not that enjoyable. For the same price, I can get a bahn mi with veggies, pate, and egg or pho or fried ramen. I look at people who eat cereal now that it's no longer cheap the same way I look at people who eat at starbucks or dominoes when there's a cheaper, better, local place right next door; wondering what's going on in their life that they're not willing to deal with the cognitive load of seeing what alternatives exist for breakfast.

See, this is what I feel about alcohol, but I don't go around judging people for enjoying it. Tastes are subjective. We each get to decide for ourselves what we like, and if we differ thats just fine!

For the same price, I can get a bahn mi with veggies, pate, and egg or pho or fried ramen.

So your breakfast is a minimum of 460 calories or so for ramen, and the prep time for the meal to be perhaps 20 minutes?

My cereal (with milk) is about 240 calories and the prep time is about 2 minutes.

I look at people who eat cereal ... wondering what’s going on in their life that they’re not willing to deal with the cognitive load of seeing what alternatives exist for breakfast.

I have about 10 minutes for breakfast in the morning and you're suggesting something that is going to be twice the calories and ten times the prep time. If that high calorie breakfast with lots of prep time is worth it to you, by all means, go ahead. You're welcome to make your own choices and they don't affect me in the slightest. I don't judge you for it, either.

We used to get Malt-O-Meal cereals for free because a cousin of ours worked in the factory.

I have shopped at Aldi for so long that I don't even know what brand half the products I buy are copies of anymore. Most of my shopping is generic products though like rice or veg.

That particular example, you buy it from a vendor, for 150-200 yen or 20-30 VND, not every example applies to literally everyone.

But also cold noodles and broth out of the fridge with a pre-made hard-boiled egg arent a bad way to start the day when the heat index gets to 118.

As for calories, dont make so much, dont drink the broth or you will have a heart attack.

Don't give General Mills any ideas. Actually, its probably already too late. They're probably working on spam flavored cereal as i type this, and will call it Sugar Spam-Os or some such.

Frosted Mini Spooners are better than Frosted Mini Wheats. They have more sugar to the point of having almost a thick sugar crust sometimes. They're great.

I have always thought marshmallow maties made more sense than lucky charms. It's only natural for marshmallows adrift in a milk sea to turn to piracy.

That's really weird to see those in boxes. They are the main brand that comes in bags where I am at least. (Besides the super bland religious-or-something brand)
