phenomlab you need to be on v4.
Alternatively I believe you can update the service worker manually with the one from the ActivityPub branch.

julian thanks. I'll check this later.
v0.7.0 of the Push Notification plugin has been released
develop
branchjulian when does 3.10 come out?
phenomlab Right now
julian Hmm - still not working for me...
EDIT - works on my Android phone, but not on my PC - guessing it's likely security software.
EDIT 2 - suspicion confirmed. It's caused by NordVPN. If running, the push notification doesn't work - if disabled, it works fine.

Thanks for closing the loop! Kind of annoying that NordVPN blocks them...
julian Yes, very, and their support isn't up to much either in the sense of wanting to fix it. I've had to change my VPN usage from machine level (which I prefer) to browser level - as long as the internet traffic is secured, that's good enough for the time being.
phenomlab curious, was it also blocking push notifications from this site as well?
julian yes

Hi,
I'm on 3.10.0 but still see the ntfy notification plugin. Are native push notifications available if updating to current version?
dave1904 it's part of core - have a look under /me/web-push
. If you use this, then you'll need to disable ntfy
To use the native notifications i have to disable ntfy first?
Edit: After disabling there are no notifications settings under user settings. So I guess I have to update the software
dave1904 sorry. It's not core. You need to install nodebb-plugin-web-push
and then you'll see the section I mentioned previously.
phenomlab found the plugin, thanks!
This requires me to toggle this on by going to my user's profile. is there a way this can be made default 'on' for all users on platform?
Pankaj-Soni yes and no... the enabling of the push notifications requires a discrete user action β the user has to actually press the switch to enable notifications.
There are ways we can advertise this to end users, so I will look into adding those soon. For now, users will have to go into their user settings to enable push notifications.
julian Just like pankaj-soni , I too would like to have push notifications on by default
Hi.
Just to be certain, push notifications still donβt work on iOS under NodeBB 4.4.4 with nodebb-plugin-web-push 0.7.4, right?
D1re_W0lf mmm it should work but we don't have Apple devices to test against...
