Lots of people have changed the names of lots of things for less reason, just because people didn't like it. People say "I don't want to use your thing because I don't like the name". That's it.

To dig in is weird, immature, and makes me question the people behind it.

I'm not super offended by the name, I'm put off by their reaction.

I find the fact that they just refuse to change the name of GIMP to be super weird and telling. That's the hill they want to die on. Weird. Like it's some sort of incredible name.
