@thelinuxEXP They want to fuck up the very fundamental prinicples of encryption. The same encryption we rely our entire trust chain online, from banking, shopping, authentication, all of it. There is NO "only the good guys have access" with encryption. Be it bad actors or exploitation via security breaches, encryption must be uninterrupted chain of communication from start to end.

@Ben Yeah, I didn’t remember why I stopped posting on any social network apart from publishing videos. I remember now.No matter if it’s Twitter or Mastodon, people don’t read what you wrote, they try really hard to read between the lines, and twist the meaning of every word you use to fit their world view, or the first emotion they felt when reading your words. People around the world who had no idea and no reason to be upset have now been TOLD to hate GIMP, its developers, and users. The people claiming to fight for "rights" are the ones literally creating and spreading hate.

I think this is a bit of a US defaultism sorta thing. That's why we aren't getting it. Gimp really has no cultural negative connotation to us. Tbh, I think neither in the US itself since the creators named it after the sex thing not the slur. Like, would have they named it "cripple"? Probably not because of the negative connotation. Just looked it up. Turns out " cripple" isn't even a slur. Just poor taste. I'm starting to to think it's not even used as a slur anymore in everyday US lexicon
